A lithium system is a long-term investment. Looked after well, it will serve you reliably for many years. This guide covers simple care that keeps your system healthy, and what to do if something goes wrong.

Caring for your system

Keep it cool and ventilated. Install your battery and inverter in a dry, shaded, well-ventilated spot, away from direct sunlight and heat. Heat is the main enemy of any battery. Do not box the equipment into a tight, airless space.

Keep it dry. Protect the system from rain, flooding, and damp. Lithium batteries and inverters are electronic equipment and must stay dry.

Do not overload it. Run only the load your system was sized for. Adding heavy appliances later, such as an air conditioner or a pumping machine, without upgrading the system can stress it and shorten its life. If your needs grow, talk to us before adding load.

Let the battery do its job. Modern lithium batteries have a built-in Battery Management System (BMS) that protects them. Use the charging and inverter settings we set up for you. Do not change protection settings unless we advise it.

Keep connections clean and tight. Loose or corroded terminals cause heat and faults. If you notice anything loose, hot, discoloured, or smelling burnt, switch off and contact us. Do not ignore it.

Mind power surges. Sudden surges from the grid or from switching a generator on and off can damage electronics. Use the protection we recommend, and follow the correct order when switching between sources.

Check on it now and then. A quick look every few weeks helps you catch problems early. Where your battery has a monitoring app, you can keep an eye on its health from your phone. If something does not look right, reach out.

What not to do

  • Do not open, dismantle, or modify the battery or inverter. There are no user-serviceable parts inside, and opening the unit can be dangerous and will void your warranty.
  • Do not attempt your own repairs or let an unapproved technician work on the system. This can be unsafe and will void your warranty.
  • Do not puncture, crush, or expose batteries to open flame or extreme heat.
  • Do not connect incompatible equipment to the system.

Repairs

If your system develops a fault, contact us first. Do not try to fix it yourself.

  • We will help you diagnose the problem, often over WhatsApp with a few photos or a short video.
  • Repairs are carried out by us or by technicians we have approved.
  • If the fault is covered, it will be handled under our Warranty Policy. Repairs or tampering by anyone we did not approve will void your warranty.

Catching a problem early and letting the right person handle it is the safest and cheapest path, and it keeps your power on.
